New Member Profile: Roman Goldstein and Erin Fackler

BASICS: What are your names and any nicknames?

Roman, Erin, Aidan, Asher, and Aurelia (Lia) Goldstein

YOU: Tell us about you and your family.

We just moved from DC, where some of Roman’s family live, though for Erin it’s also a move back; she grew up in Plymouth. Erin is a people manager for Boston Consulting Group’s tech-focused subsidiary, Platinion. Roman is a bank lawyer working as a regulatory consultant at Klaros Group, helping fintechs become banks. Our Shabbat tradition is Peruvian chicken and board games. All three of our intensely curious kids go to Groveland (4th, 3rd, and K, respectively). We own the world’s weirdest labradoodle: he loves snow but hates water.

BELONG: What does belonging to a synagogue mean to you?

That we have a way to participate in communal Jewish life and keep Judaism strong for the next generation.

HERE: Why did you choose Bet Shalom?

In large part because Bet Shalom member Joel Greenwald recommended it! We also got a good vibe from Rabbi Locketz, especially his explanation of why Bet Shalom has “Hamakom” rather than an old-school religious education.
