Rabbi David Locketz Discretionary Fund

Used at the discretion of Rabbi Locketz for worthwhile projects and activities not covered by the congregation's budget.

Leder Family Mitzvah Fund

Provides financial aid to people in need.

Cantor Havilio Discretionary Fund

Used at the discretion of Cantor Havilio for worthwhile projects and activities not covered by the congregation's budget.

Education Fund

Aids our Religious School programs and further enhances our children's educational opportunities.

Holocaust Memorial Garden Fund

Money is used to fund memorials or other structures to enhance the beauty, mission-related uses, or accessibility of Bet Shalom's exterior grounds.

Max & Linda Rutman Family Building Fund

Used to repair or replace worn or obsolete components of our present facility.

Preschool Fund

Provides program support for Shalom Yeladim (Bet Shalom Preschool).

Leona Berle Israel Scholarship Program

Provides scholarships to send children to Israel to further enrich their Jewish education. The Rabbi and the Director of Education along with a member of the Berle family can authorize the use of this fund.

General Fund

Used in whatever way is most needed for the operation of the synagogue.

Capital Replacement Fund

Used for capital improvements for our buildings and grounds.

Joanna Simer Memorial Fund

Provides scholarships to confirmation students to enable their participation in the annual class trip and supplements other special class activities.

Lonstein Fund

Used to further train and develop our teaching staff through conferences and conventions.

Klei Kodesh (Ritual) Fund

Provides for the care, repair, and replacement of Bet Shalom’s sacred ritual items (klei kodesh), including prayer books, Torah scrolls, Torah commentaries, and other ritual objects used in worship and congregational life. Donations help ensure that these essential items remain in good condition for current and future generations.

The office shall ensure that donations of $36 result in an acknowledgement in a prayer book, and donations of $72 will inscribe a Torah commentary. Additional contributions may support the maintenance and restoration of Torah scrolls and other ritual items as needed. The Rabbi and Ritual Committee may authorize the use of these funds.

Social Action Fund

Supports a variety of local causes and programs.

Pesis Family Israel Scholarship Fund

Provides scholarships for young people to participate in educational programs in Israel.

Tzedakah Fund

Allows Bet Shalom to provide support to outside charities.

Dolginow Scholar in Residence Fund

Provides ongoing opportunities for the study of Torah for our congregation.

Silberman Miklin Campership Fund

Provides scholarships for young people to attend Jewish Camp Programs.

Music Fund

Provides support to our music programs including choirs, workshops, materials and professional development.

Sammy & Pearl Gallop Education Fund

This fund is used to encourage the next generation of synagogue youth. Funds can be used for formal & informal Jewish education.

Walzer Food and Nutrition Fund

This fund is designed to fuel the food and nutrition needs of the Bet Shalom community, family and friends.

Rabbi Norman Cohen Discretionary Fund

Used at the discretion of Rabbi Cohen for worthwhile projects and activities not covered by the congregation's budget.

Rabbi Norman M. Cohen HUC-JIR Scholarship Fund

Awards scholarships to members of Bet Shalom Congregation and their children who are engaged in degree-conferring programs at Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion leading to careers as Jewish professionals.

Caring Community: Jackie Hirsch Memorial Fund

Supports programs developed by the Caring Community.

Eugene Fabes Adult Education Fund

Provides adult education opportunities and programs.

Irving Kaplan Adult Education Fund

Provides adult education opportunities, in particular for seniors.

Machov/Eisenstatt Kitchen Fund

Helps to renovate and upgrade our kitchen facilities.

Tom Silver Nekudot Fund

Used to enhance projects within the congregation – be they functional, cosmetic, or interpersonal. Tom’s Legacy as the Boneh will live on in vitalization, updates and improvements to facility and enhancement of relationships within the congregation.

Cantor Lipsett-Allison Fund

This fund was established to honor Cantor Lipsett-Allison's love of community. It will support large congregational programming not funded by the Bet Shalom budget, specific to education and culture.

Next Generation Fund

Used to bring Jewish teachings, customs and awareness to our children, and make Judaism a significant part of the lives of our future generations.
