Affordable Housing Advocacy

The time is NOW to invest in guaranteeing everyone can afford their home. The pandemic made it crystal clear that we are in a housing crisis and that too many of us live one crisis away from losing our homes. We are still not through this pandemic, but we are ready for a long-term housing solution. We need to pass Bring it Home, MN, and give every Minnesotan the rental assistance they deserve.

We have the resources to pass Bring it Home, MN right now! While this legislative session is not a year that the state must pass a budget, we have a $7 billion surplus. While there will be demands to fund other programs or give the money back in tax cuts, there is enough to fund Bring it Home, MN, entirely at $1.3 billion a year.

Bring it Home, MN Week of Action, February 14th – 18th

The week of 2/14 is a lobbying "virtual week at the capitol," where congregations will meet with legislators to deliver our story and the need to pass Bring it Home, MN this year. The meetings will be virtual. If you've never lobbied before, don't worry - you'll be with Bet Shalom congregants who have.
