New Member Profile: Eva and Josh Johnson

What are your names and any nicknames?

Our names are Eva and Josh Johnson. Eva used to go by her middle name, Billie, until high school – a totally accidental change due to school administration! Josh has a “stage name” for work, Thred, as he is an electronic music artist.

Tell us about you and your family.

We met at a music festival, which is a large part of both our social and work lives. We were introduced by someone in the industry and never separated after that day! Eva was living in Boca Raton, and Josh in Minnesota, so Eva made the move. We got married and now are expanding our family with a new baby boy. We plan to have our children involved in the community.

What does belonging to a synagogue mean to you?

As a young family, it’s important to have present the values that are instilled in the Jewish community. The idea of belonging to something, connecting with others, and a place to share those values is of upmost importance. Community is everything!

Why did you choose Bet Shalom?

We chose Bet Shalom due to a recommendation of our good friend and former Rabbi. As we did more research, we saw the importance at Bet Shalom of social connection and high family values. These were non-negotiable for us, and we are looking forward to connecting with like-minded people.
