New Member Profile: Cheryl Ravich

BASICS: What are your names and any nicknames?

My name is Cheryl Ravich.  I am Moo Moo to my grand-kids.

YOU: Tell us about you and your family.

I am the mother of two — a 37 year old son who lives in Minneapolis and a 41 year old daughter who lives in LA with her family.  I am an animal lover and volunteer at an animal shelter in Palm Springs when I am there.  I also volunteer at Interfaith Outreach in the food shelf.  I have two Havanese, one who is 8 years old and a rescue who is 2 1/2 years old.

I love golf, Pilates, strength training, playing canasta, hiking and biking, and I’m trying to like pickleball.  I love to travel and am currently working on my bucket list, having visited three of my five top places.

BELONG: What does belonging to a synagogue mean to you?

Belonging to a synagogue is important to me for my spiritual needs and finding a sense of community.

HERE: Why did you choose Bet Shalom?

I chose Bet Shalom after belonging to another synagogue for over 40 years.  I wanted to find a place where everyone is important and equal.
