New Member Profile: Harry and Riley Goetz Goldstein

What are your names and any nicknames?

Harrison (Harry) Goldstein and Riley Goldstein (currently Riley's last name is Goetz but we are getting married 10.24.26 and she will be changing her name).

YOU: Tell us about you and your family.

Harrison is originally from New York, raised in North Jersey and moved to Minnesota in August 2021 for work. He was raised Jewish at a Reform synagogue and was heavily involved in BBYO during his high school years. He went to college at the University of Florida studying Biomedical Engineering and was a member of Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. He now works as an engineer focused on designing and developing new medical devices.

Riley is originally from Northfield, Minnesota and moved to the Twin Cities about a decade ago after attending college at Winona University. She wanted to pursue a career in healthcare and works in the dental field as an assistant. When she is not working, she loves spending time with family, including her many nieces and soon to be nephew. Riley grew up Catholic but is nearing the end of her journey as she converts to Judaism.

We both love music and actively attend as many concerts as we can, spending time in nature birding, hiking, fishing, or kayaking, and love to travel (we will be headed to Thailand for our honeymoon).

BELONG: What does belonging to a synagogue mean to you?

It means community. Belonging to a synagogue is deeply important to us as it provides us with an environment in which we can connect with our Jewish identities, give back, and have a place of worship when times are both good and bad.

HERE: Why did you choose Bet Shalom?

We recently moved to Minnetonka and look forward to starting our family here! Bet Shalom is an incredibly welcoming atmosphere, and the friendly, warm nature of this synagogue made us both feel right at home.
