Carpe Diem Cabernet Napa CA 2019 @ $29.99: Winemaker notes: The wine is fruit forward, elegant, and exhibits soft tannins, making it pleasant to drink in its youth. Oak is used sparingly to keep Carpe Diem fresh and vibrant. It has a refreshing and straightforward wine expressing its bountiful fruit with bright aromas of wild strawberries and soft tannins. Wine Enthusiast: Gravelly rock, sea spray and iodine accent a full-bodied expression of texture and structure in this well-made, value-minded wine. Red currant, cassis and dried herb add to the overall earthiness and grace.
Rex Hill Willamette Pinot Noir 2019 @ $29.99: Winemaker Notes: An overtly complex and layered wine. Pretty, floral notes of lavender and violet join spicy aromas of black pepper, cedar, tobacco and Bergamot tea. Earthiness on the nose, and the accompanying fruit is on the darker spectrum: black cherry, currant, cassis and wild blueberry. On the palate, chewy tannins with a peppery spice element showing through. The finish is long, with lingering tannin and a juicy plum note. Retail $38.
Seghesio Sonoma County Zinfandel 2021 @ $18.98: Wine Spectator: Plush in texture, this Zin is generous with blackberry and cherry flavors that draw in accents of briar patch, black pepper and toasty cinnamon as it finishes with zesty tannins. Winemaker Notes: Intense aromatics of currant and plum are complemented by savory notes of black olive, anise and allspice. A bright entry of briary black raspberry gives way to a bold palate of supple, lively tannins and a powerful, lingering finish.
Vina Robles Chardonnay 2020 @ $17.99: Winemaker notes: Bright golden straw color. Aromas of golden apple and honey fill the nose, with hints of lemon and caramel. The wine carries a medium-bodied palate with flavors of apple, citrus, and creme caramel leading to a zesty finish.
Napa Cellars Napa County Sauvignon Blanc 2021 @ $17.99: Winemaker notes: This Sauvignon Blanc opens with alluring aromas of tropical fruit, gooseberry, and lemongrass. A full and lively palate of guava, peach, and grapefruit complemented by bright acidity gives way to a lingering, crisp finish.
Dr. Konstantin Frank Semi-Dry Riesling 2021 Finger Lakes NY @ $17.99: Winemaker Notes: Delicate at first then tropically ripe, brimming with apricot, nectarine and a touch of pineapple. Lemon citrus and acacia blossom balance the sweetness effortlessly. Wine Enthusiast: Reminiscent of a cider press, this is rich and aromatic, the honey-flecked orchard fruit accompanied by candied peach and pineapple, with whispers of something more floral and waxy. Tangy, lemony acidity lifts the creamy texture in the mouth, those stone-fruit and cider-y notes flowing to the finish. There’s certainly sweetness, but it doesn’t dominate. Drink now with a salty blue cheese to balance the confection.
