New Member Profile: Jen and Tom Borowicz
BASICS: What are your names and any nicknames?
Thomas (Tom) and Jennifer (Jen) Borowicz
YOU: Tell us about you and your family.
Jen grew up at Bet Shalom and her parents, Kirk and Donna Friedman, are still active members. Tom and Jen met at Hopkins High School, persevered through many border battles between the University of Minnesota and University of Wisconsin sports teams, and got married in 2018. Jen works in corporate Learning and Development, and Tom is a civil engineer. We welcomed our daughter in 2021 and our son in 2024. As a family, we enjoy traveling, neighborhood walks, and pizza nights. We will be moving to Plymouth later this year.
BELONG: What does belonging to a synagogue mean to you?
Belonging to a synagogue means having a strong Jewish community and support system for life's most exciting and difficult times. It is a place where our family can learn, connect, and grow.
HERE: Why did you choose Bet Shalom?
Bet Shalom feels like home. We have already experienced many great moments in connection with the synagogue and Rabbis such as our wedding and baby naming ceremonies (in addition to Jen’s earlier Jewish education, Bat Mitzvah, and support of the youth group). It is such a welcoming environment, and we look forward to our family formally being part of the congregation.
