As the main initiative of the Caring Community, the Kugel Kindness program was created as a way for Bet Shalom members to be warm, welcoming and supportive to each other while creating community. We provide kugel to those congregant families who are experiencing a variety of different life cycle events such as births, deaths, and illness.
Every month we make 20 kugels in the Bet Shalom Kitchen with approximately 8 volunteers. Some people are avid cooks and others have no experience at all. We have seen amazing connections be made between people who just met and people who have known each other for years. There is something about being in a kitchen with others, cooking and talking that brings people together.
How to get Involved
Volunteers are always needed to make kugels each month and to deliver kugels to those congregants experiencing different life cycle events. If you are interested in helping us make kugel, use this link to sign up for one or more of the next several kugel making sessions. The next few sessions are Jan 23 7-9pm, Feb 27th 7-9pm and April 16th 1-3pm
If you are interested in delivering kugel please fill out this form so that we can gather information.
