Yarok ירוק (Pre-K)

Hello Pre-K families,

This week we have been celebrating the 4th of July!

On Monday we made some red white and blue wind socks. We talked about how tools that can measure wind speed can help decide whether we can have fireworks shows among many other uses.

On Tuesday we had a 4th of July scavenger hunt at school. See if you can find the same things from the scavenger hunt at home!

On Wednesday we painted flags and talked about ways that we can be respectful towards flags.

On Thursday we decorated firework hats, and students helped sort out the red, white, and blue sequins and gems.

On Friday we used instruments to match the rhythms of different american folk songs, and had a pinwheel parade! Our dress up day on Friday also included making red white and blue bracelets.

This week we talked about and practiced with voice volume. We sang a 4th of July song using a whisper voice, talking voice, and elevated voice. We did not practice a yelling voice, noting that this voice we only use when we are outside or in the big room! We will continue to practice and notice our volume level at different points of the day.

We hope you enjoy spending time together over the long weekend! We will see you all again next Tuesday, July 5th.

Best,

Ms. Veronica and Ms. Langley
