Tzahov צהוב (Infants)

Greetings from Camp Tzahov! This week we highlighted another fun summer activity,  CAMPING. The babies had an opportunity to hang out in a tent,  go fishing, read books and sing songs about building a fire and making smores!

New classroom decor was added to create a camping feeling.  A tent was brought in to hang out in and lent itself to be a great place to read books.  Light up lanterns and flashlights were a hit with the babes and everyone had a good time singing camping songs while in the "dark".

Art this week was sponge painting; creating the look of a bonfire.  Using the sponge to stamp paint was a new experience for the babies.  Many of them mistook the sponge for food and got paint on their faces; it's all part of the experience!

Bears were present in the classroom and reading the book,  Going On A Bear Hunt,  was enjoyed many,  many times.  We also read a simple book about a bear and a kite as well as a bear and a ball. While bears are not always welcomed while camping,  the teddy bears in our classroom were so soft and cuddly!!

Fishing is another fun camping activity so we introduced the littles to both fishing in a fake pond and fishing while playing in the water. The babies were very interested in playing with the rods and fish. Water play outside in the shade was super fun. The babes attention span is usually very short but with water play,  it lasts a lot longer!! The babies loved splashing the water on a warm day.

Next week our mini theme is picnic. New decor, an art experience, and lots of play food as well as new songs and books will aid us in teaching about this fun summer activity.  We look forward to seeing everyone back after the weekend.

Take care,

Heidi, Sarah, and Holden
