Adom אדום (Older Toddlers)

Hi Adom Families!

After learning a lot about horses last week, I thought we should talk about everyone's favorite kind of horse, UNICORNS!!

We got to learn about what makes a unicorn different than a horse, as well as reviewed what the parts are called, like mane, hooves, tail, and horn, and what each part does! The kids loved using our new paint markers on a unicorn drawing, which I helped them make into unicorn crowns! After they finishes their unicorns, I cut out the horns, attached them to crowns that they got to color and sticker, and then we got to make our own manes for our crowns! We took string pieces and taped them to paper that was then added to our crowns to finish them off. I hope they all get to have a magical time with their unicorn crowns at school and at home.

As we continued through the week we read Clip-Clop, all about animals taking a ride on a friendly horse, then we talked about the sound a horse makes when running, the clip clop! Then we all got to try it out with horse toys in a big sensory bin. They loved my clip clop impression, and asked me all day to do it while their horses ran across the table or floor.

We got to wrap up the week with a "build a unicorn" activity with horse to start, and wings, horn, and mane to add with gluesticks. I couldn't resist helping here and there, but I really tried to let them build it all by themselves, and I know they are so proud! I loved having all my magical unicorns in class this week.

Next week we'll shrink down to learn all about rats, mice, and rodents! (I hope we get to talk about weasels and ferrets!!)

Have a nice warm weekend!
