Kahol כחול (Younger Toddler)

Shalom and happy Friday Kahol Families! We had a fun week playing and learning together. Our theme was picnic!

A big thing we work on in class is pretend eating and doing our best to limit mouthing toys. Exploration is very important for young children but can get tricky when you're in a room filled with toddlers. At circle time we talked a little more about pretend eating and modeled what that looks like. The kids were very responsive to the classroom expectations but of course we still have some things to work on! Also during circle time we have been making large (fabric) sandwiches. The kiddos took turns adding a new ingredient, stacking it high.

Picnics are traditionally outside so of course we had one of our meal times outside this week! The littles loved eating outside at the playground picnic table. They were good little noodles who had no problem following class expectations despite being in a new stimulating environment!

Sensory bags are always a fun go to and this week's was done slightly differently. The Kahol teachers filled the bags with the materials as they would normally and then taped them to the lid of the sensory table. This gave a different and exciting experience for the toddlers.

Our art project for this week was a good exercise in patience and taking turns. Teacher Tira assembled a grassy area with a cute picnic blanket at its center. Each child then got their turn to dip their pointer fingers in paint and then press them onto the paper. Once everything was dry, small legs and antenna were added to make them more bug like. What's a picnic without an ant attack! You can find these cute little scenes in the hallway outside our room!

Lastly we have been trying our best to get outside as much as possible. At the end of the day you will see us combine with Adom if ratio allows to get even more time. Water play is our best way to stay cool on a hot day but strangely not all the kids are equally excited about the water. As a reminder, please remember to bring a towel, water shoes and proper swim gear at the start of your week and then bring it home at the end of your week. Thank you!

Next week we will start talking more about animals especially local ones and where we can find them.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Kind regards,

Teachers Tira and Jen
