Tzahov צהוב (Infants)

Happy August Tzahov families! This month,  our theme is ABCs and 123s. We've had a lot of fun so far this week with new classroom decor, new toys and activities to compliment our theme.

Alphabet posters and a growth chart were added to the classroom walls for the babes to look at and teachers to name objects.  On occasion,  we'll hear our older babes mimic the words or letter sounds they hear. Learning a language is hard! Talking a lot with the babes and responding to them when they communicate with us helps support language development.

New number and letter toys were on the shelves this week for the babies to explore. Apples with pictures and a worm with the cooresponding first letter was fun to play with as the worms play peek a boo and can be pulled in and out. Magnetic number squares were an interesting toy due to the surprising nature of the magnets. Large nesting and stacking blocks gave new life to large towers; building and knocking down. A bright yellow chair was added to the classroom a couple weeks ago and the babies love it! It plays ABCs and has numbered buttons on a "remote control" to push as well; very fitting for our theme this month.

Activities we repeated during the week were counting objects as the teachers or babies emptied and filled containers. We counted fingers and toes and sangs letter and number songs throughout the day.

Next week, one part of our plan is to do a messy art project using the first letter of each babes name. Most of the babies embrace painting projects!!

We hope you have a wonderful weekend.
