Sagol סגול (Preschool)

Happy Friday Sagol families!

We hope you all enjoyed the long weekend! Coming back to school we jumped into independence week. We combined Fourth of July celebrations and discussions with lessons on independence with our preschoolers.

We started off the week with a discussion about the Fourth of July at circle time. Our preschoolers learned about how old the United States are, how they became a country, and we discussed our favorite fireworks that we saw over the long weekend.

Thanks to the mild-ish weather, we were able to spend a lot of time outside. We did a lot of water play, and we got to go on a few long walks before lunch. On our walks we spotted butterflies, flowers, and even a family of ducks that we’ve watched grow up over the summer.

After our Fourth of July discussions, we started lessons on preschooler independence. We worked on getting undressed and putting on swimsuits independently, independence in the potty, and cleaning up our room.

One art project that the children were really excited about was our ice cube painting. On Monday, preschoolers used droppers to add dye to ice cube trays, and on Wednesday they used them to paint designs on pieces of paper. The result was beautiful!

We hope you all enjoy the weekend, and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone next week!
