Kahol כחול (Younger Toddler)

Shabbat Shalom Kahol Families!

This week we focused on Dinosaurs! On Monday we made air dry clay Dino “fossils” that we will use in our sensory bin so we can “find” fossils with the kids!

On Tuesday we went on a Dino egg hunt! The kids loved searching for the eggs and got really excited when they found one and got to put it in the basket to bring back to mommy dinosaur!

On Wednesday we colored some dinosaur pages with some dot dots and put dinosaur stickers on them. We then hung them on the wall in the classroom so all the kids could see their art!

We also started a special science experiment with the kids where we will “grow” a dinosaur! If we leave it in some water it could get up to 6 times bigger! It will be fun to watch the progress with the kids.

Thursday we painted with cotton balls to reveal dino outlines! The kids loved mixing the colors and getting messy.

Teacher Tira also brought in some new dinosaur toys for the kids to play with. They loved pretending with the dinosaurs.

Friday we will use our clay fossils in our sensory bin and have a dino dance party! The kids love having dance parties especially when there are bubbles!

Throughout the week we have been singing lots of dinosaur themed songs and reading some dino books. Some favorites have been Dinosaur Dance by Sandra Boynton and the songs “5 Little Dinos” and “We Are the Dinosaurs.”

With the warmer weather we have been going outside both at play time and for walks. The kids love going on walks the highlights this week being visiting farmer Jake and seeing a wild turkey!

We have a special surprise for Mother’s Day in the kids cubbies! Thanks moms for all you do!

Teacher Tira and Teacher Jen loved having the chance to connect with many of you for conferences this week. It’s always nice to have a chance to check in and talk about your awesome kids!

Lastly Teacher Tira and Teacher Jen wanted to say thank you so much for all the kind words and gifts you have given us for teacher appreciation week! It warms our hearts! We truly love BSY and our little classroom family!
