Adom אדום (Older Toddlers)

Welcome back parents and toddlers!!

The first week of fall semester, we hit the ground running learning about same-same colors! We got to color our own viewfinders with color tinted lenses so they can see the world in all the same color! It's always fun to make everything and everyone turn different colors looking through our colored lenses.

Afterward, we got to sort toys by color as a class! I collected a bunch of toys from the storage room and our classroom and dumped them out for our friends to place on the tables, matching them to the colors I stuck to the tables. They had a lot of fun talking through color matching with me and their friends.

Then we talked about different shades of the same same color. I showed that white crayon on white paper doesn't show up, but orange marker on orange paper works because it's a different shade of orange! So we all got to pick our favorite colors and got to use that color marker on that color paper.

After our monochromatic masterpieces we're completed, we got to help make colored rice for rainbow rice bins!! They helped me food dye their favorite colors and we got to mix our multicolored rice into one big rice bin for a rainbow sensory experience!! Our friends loved finding rice pieces in their favorite colors after they were all mixed together.

As we head into next week, we'll make full use of our new dramatic play and talk all about construction and construction vehicles! Put your hard hats on and let's BUILD!!

Shabbat Shalom,

Eric, Sarah, and Becca
