Kahol כחול (Younger Toddler)

Summer is here and we are having a blast and kicking back in Kahol!

The first theme we are focusing on this summer is camping!  Teachers Tira and Jen added some new toys that fit the theme perfectly such as our cloth fire pit complete with sticks for roasting marshmallows and fishing poles!

The kiddos really enjoyed playing pretend and camping out in the room. We discussed fire safety while making the fires each day. And the fish were biting while we counted our catch!

We decorated cardboard tubes to make really cool binoculars! The kids used stickers and colored on coloring pages to decorate them! Teacher Tira made extras for those that weren't with us the day we made them. Next week we hope to go bird watching with them!

Smokey the Bear made an appearance this week in the form of a fun drawing drawn by Teacher Eric. We did a great job coloring him in bright colorful colors. The kids hope to do him proud with their fire safety knowledge!

We took a few walks around the building and saw a lot of wildlife! We saw baby ducks and lots of squirrels running around. Walks are a great way to re-enter the kiddos after a long morning of having fun. Some enjoy it so much they try to snooze in the stroller!

Our book highlight of this week was How to dig a hole to the other side of the world by Faith McNulty.

Next week we continue our camping focus! Adventure awaits!

Kind regards,

Tira and Jen
