Adom אדום (Older Toddlers)

This week in Adom we got to learn about and play with all kinds of musical instruments!

We started the week talking about the music we listen to during lunches, classical music. Our friends love listening, and telling me if they hear a piano or a violin! Soon after, we got to decorate our own guitars, and our friends loved playing them like air guitars. After we made our guitars we got to learn about how it's the strings that make the music sounds, and even got to practice a little with a ukulele.

As the week went on we learned about drums and drumsticks, pianos, triangles, tambourines, and rhythm sticks! We all had a blast playing our instruments to the music during circle time and as we sang songs during free play. It was so much fun to sing with the toddlers while we all played together!

As the week wound down, we practiced how to play with our instruments quietly, for those times when a quiet space is needed. Many of our friends had fun trying to make the quietest noise they could with their instruments.

We ended the week with one big Shabbat concert! All our friends picked some instruments and we had a Shabbat/Kids song "concert" in our class with our instruments! Many of our friends loved pretending to be the rabbi singing Bim Bam with their guitars, but I think the classes favorite was Animal Boogie! Next week is our final week before a break week and then the fall semester begins! We'll be learning about weather, and the kind of changes to expect going into fall!

See you all then!
